The Hi-Pointe story is one of hope and faith. A story of strength and courage that lies within each of us and enables us to pick up the pieces and make the best of our situation.
Hi-Pointe Care was founded by the mother of a medically fragile child. Her twin son, Jordan, was born pre-diagnosed with a severe heart condition and then as a toddler, with traumatic brain damage. Despite recommendations to institutionalize her son, she advocated strongly to have him discharged to his home where she believed that with excellent home nursing combined with the love and support of his family, he would ultimately make a good recovery.
She was right. Within months, she saw a drastic improvement in Jordan’s condition. But the road to recovery was a long, lonely and arduous one and she learned so much from the experience. She devoted her time and energy to finding useful resources to improve her son’s condition so he would have a better chance at life despite his condition. She joined a network of mothers who shared their frustrations about life at home with their medically fragile children and was deeply moved by the challenges they all faced. With the help of highly skilled pediatric nurses who played a great role in the clinical improvement of her son, she made the decision to start Hi-Pointe Care Solutions. Her goal was to bring hope to other families going through similar situations with their loved ones by delivering the highest quality of care with compassion and kindness.
For us at Hi-Pointe, caring for medically fragile children and adults is not a business or a career. It is a passion, a calling, a summons to the heart and mind to make a difference in the lives of families who are usually torn apart by their loved one’s medical condition. Our goal is to create for our patients a safe environment at home with decreased emergency room visits and reduced hospital admissions. Most importantly, we deliver care with compassion and empathy, leading to better outcomes.
Today, Hi-Pointe is a household name in children’s hospitals across the Northern Virginia region. We have numerous pediatric nurses providing specialized care for children with complex medical ranging from extreme prematurity to genetic illnesses to various medical anomalies. We are the preferred provider for many case managers and discharge planners who send us referrals based on the recommendation of families that have come to know and love us. Our Hi-Pointe families appreciate the role we play in helping children who would otherwise have been institutionalized, rather thrive in the comfort of their own home surrounded by the love and support of their families.
